Bartletts, Bishopstone

Bartlett’s residential care home is a Victorian country house built in 1856 for the Bartlett family when they were the High Sheriffs of Buckinghamshire. It has since been a school and is now a country house retreat for the elderly. Set in an extensive 18 acres of groundslocated close to Aylesbury in Bishopstone and with spectacular views across the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

James was asked to help masterplan the garden areas around a new activity centre for residents set within a woodland.  The scheme also involved integrating 4 new garden lodges with accommodation for residents.  Working closely with architect Ifor Rhys and Anil Dahnani from Peveral Court Care we successfully navigated planning.  The project started on site in 2024 and is due for completion in 2025.
