Almshouse, Butlers Cross

The Almshouse is a project in the village of Ellesborough at the foot of the Chiltern Hills just to the south of the Vale of Aylesbury.

James was engaged to redesign the country garden focussing on remodelling the main terrace area and break out spaces leading from this.  Sinuous geometry with blocks of hedging to add structure help to frame lawn areas and divide the garden.  A wildflower meadow area is proposed within an existing orchard space.  The project is on site in 2025.
